2 Day Weekend & 5 Day Domestic Plumbing Course
Figures recently published
by the National Plumbing Association indicated that by the
year 2010 there would be a short fall of approximately 5000
plumbers and central heating engineers nationwide. Most colleges
no longer offer training as the cost of materials has risen
sharply. This is one of the best paid jobs in the industry.
You will work in a purpose built bay 6ft x 6ft and the course
modules will include:
- Demonstration and uses of plumbing tools
and materials.
- Install a fully operational bathroom
suite comprising of bath, wash basin, W.C, kitchen sink
all with taps, waste fittings and a hose union bib tap with
valves.
- Complete pipe work using different tee’s,
valves and compression fittings.
- Use blow torches and solder to connect
copper pipe work.
- Instructed on cold water storage tanks
and cylinders.
- Learn how different water and waste systems
operate.
- System Components
- Relevant health and safety procedures.
- General maintenance requirements.
These above modules are covered on our 5 day courses with
a scaled down version available on our 2 day weekend courses
for D.I.Y purposes.

1 Day Water Regulations Qualification (Plumbing)
Plumbers
and heating engineers who will work on the installation and
use of water supply systems need to undertake training in
this area in order to complete the work competently and correctly.
Owners and occupiers of premises, and anyone who installs
plumbing systems or water fittings
have the legal duty to ensure that the system satisfy the
regulations. Advanced notice must be given of proposed installations
in most cases, so architects, building developers and plumbers
have to follow the regulations on behalf of future owners
or occupiers.
Passing this exam means that you can legally carry out plumbing
installations.
A course booklet will be supplied to each
candidate for revision approximately 2 weeks before attending
the exam.
When attending this course it is important that you bring
your national insurance number and 2 x passport size photographs
with you. This is to ensure no mistakes are made on the production
of your Water Regulations Advisory Scheme I.D card.
