CSCS Training (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Portfolio
of Evidence
All
construction trades on building sites now require a recognised
level of competent health & safety awareness. A CSCS card
demonstrates that its holder has the level of competence required
and is your passport to either gaining employment or working
as a sub-contractor on such sites.
All candidates that attend our 5 or 10
day training courses are able to apply for a General Site
Operatives CSCS card.
Each candidate that wishes to apply for
a weekday training course incorporating CSCS training will
receive a Guild of Master Craftsmen Certificate outlining
all the modules you have covered which is signed and dated
by your instructor. A level one NVQ module health & safety
training assessment, health & safety revision test book,
general health & safety summary guide for on-site compliance
and a portfolio of evidence incorporating pictures taken by
your instructor whilst you are completing certain modules.
This card will last for 5 years and is
the entry level for all non qualified training operatives.
Once you have been on site for 12 months either employed or
as a sub-contractor then you are able to apply for either
a basic site skills card or an experienced workers card once
you have been assessed.
If a candidate is completing multiple courses
then only one general site operatives CSCS card is necessary
to cover the candidate on all courses (except electrical).
In order to apply for a CSCS card all candidates will have
to pass a mock health & safety test at the centre and
demonstrate through practical skills that they are competent
in general health & safety.
Once this level of competence has been achieved
Shropshire Building Skills will help complete your application
form regarding your training prior to you attending a CITB
mobile test centre to undertake this exam.
Each candidate is able to book the CSCS
test when they feel they have completed enough home studying
in order to pass the test. Once you have successfully completed
the test you are able to apply for your identification card.
The combined cost for the test and I.D. card is £42.50
and is payable by the candidate.
If for any reason a candidate fails the test then a cooling
off period of 3 days must elapse before the candidate is able
to book a re-sit at a cost of £17.50
Electrotechnical Certification Scheme
(ECS Card) Affiliated to the Construction Skills Certification
Scheme

Skills is able to offer all electrical candidates a CSCS ECS

on-site. The identification card will bear the candidates
