Bricklayers are always in demand and therefore always busy, ranging from building a single skin brick wall in a garden right up to the construction of an extension or even a new home. Whatever happens in the property market there will always be plenty of work.

Course Modules

1. Demonstration of bricklaying tools and materials
2. Demonstrate how to gauge, level & plumb your brickwork
3. Mix mortar to the correct consistency
4. Build a brick wall with L shape returns, hollow piers and decorative capping stones OR build a decorative brick wall with returns incorporating hollow piers with an arch and capping stones
5. Complete different pointing up techniques
6. Demonstrate different brick types, patterns, depth for footings plus much more
7. Build a porch extension using lintels, backblocks, wall ties, cavaties, engineering bricks, facing bricks and damp proof course.
